Mountain Retreat in Aspen

Set into the steep Aspen mountainside, this new, 3-story house was designed for an active family as a year-round retreat. A subdued palette and textural layers were inspired by the region’s winter and summer seasons and allow the spectacular panoramic Rocky Mountain views to take center stage.

Plaster walls and a watery, layered paint finish used on most of the millwork creates an elegant counterpoint to the more rustic timbers and stone of the house, bringing a sense of airiness into each room.
